DIY Bathroom Hacks or Professional Service?
- On June 23, 2017
When it comes to cleaning your bathroom, it’s easy to get disheartened, bored or downright unwilling to do the dirty work it takes to keep your bathroom sparkling. Nothing works as quickly to undo the fresh, clean look of a new remodel as allowing it to become unkempt, dusty and marred with water spots or worse.
Thank goodness there are some cleaning ideas for your bathroom chores that will invigorate you to get started as soon as you hear them! Here are four hacks that are sure to work for you.
- Start at the top. There’s nothing as disheartening as getting your bathroom sink shined only to find the light fixtures above are filthy. Cleaning them will surely rain down an array of dust and grime onto your freshly cleaned sink, meaning you’ll have to clean it again. Starting with the light fixtures and working your way downward assures that once you’ve reached the baseboards, your work will be done.
- Moving the fresh lemons from the kitchen and into the bathroom could do wonders for a cleaner, fresher area. That bathtub scum that requires a scrubbing won’t be as hard to remove if you dust it with a bit of baking soda and do your scrubbing with a freshly cut lemon. The fresh and welcoming scent can also save you a bundle in scented products that you might normally purchase.
- It is an unpleasant fact of life that minerals can build up in your shower heads and faucets. However, all you really have to do is tie a plastic bag filled with vinegar around these fixtures and leave them to set for a few hours. When you come back, the minerals will have broken loose and are more likely to wash right out.
- Mildew growth in your grout is scrubbing job that we all hate. One way to alleviate this problem is by filling a spray bottle with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide and leaving it to sit for 10 minutes, followed by a gentle scrubbing. The results are likely to amaze you.
